Chicken Nihari

 Ingredients

  • Chicken 1300 gms
  • Ghee 150 gms
  • Onion 1 medium
  • Ginger/Garlic paste 2 tbs
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 tbs
  • Salt 1/2 tbs
  • fennel seeds powder 1/2 tbs
  • dry ginger powder 1/2 tbs
  • water 2000 ml
  • garam masala 1/4 tsp
  • flour 1-2 tbs
For Garnishing:
  • Julien cut ginger
  • Coriander chopped
  • Green chillies chopped
  • Lemon half and half

 Instructions

  • Put oil in a pan and saute chicken until golden.
  • Then, add onion, ginger/garlic paste, red chilli powder and salt.
  • Saute for 2 mins then add fennel seeds powder and ginger powder.
  • Saute and add garam masala.
  • Make a thin paste of flour and water.
  • Add the flour mixture in the Nihari and cook on low flame for 15-20 mins until desired consistency. 
  • Garnish and serve with Naan.
